FROM THE PRESIDENT – HVFC COVID-19 UPDATE as of 16th March 2020

In line with the SANFL communications received yesterday, the SFL has advised (and was agreed with by all 9 affiliated clubs) the decision to cancel all football related activities including training, trial games and matches until further notice.

A further meeting of Community Football is occurring over the coming days and an official decision will be given encompassing all leagues but it is likely and expected that we will fall in line with the SANFL and football will not recommence until at least the 31st of May 2020.

What this will look like we have no idea at this stage as the situation changes rapidly but we will keep you informed regularly on this page, through the newsletter and on your Facebook groups.

We will have a lot to iron out over the coming weeks and will do so with the best interests of players, coaches and members and ask you all to have some patience with us for the time being.

At this time we ask you all take the issue of Social Distancing seriously. In our community (as with all communities) we have many vulnerable people that this illness could harm greatly, so now is not a time for complacency or to underestimate the severity of this situation.

All of the leadership at Happy Valley Football club from all corners of the club want all of our players, families, supporters and sponsors to know that we appreciate you .

If we can do a bit to help in this problematic time to get this right we will be back together playing football at this great club
