The Happy Valley Football Club is represented by teams in the A, B, and C grade in the senior competition of the Southern Football League Incorporated. The A and B Grades play on Saturday’s, and the C Grade is played mostly on Sunday afternoons. The club has a proud history in the senior competition, with many premierships at all levels. The club strives to produce teams that will be competitive and show the ‘Viking’ spirit that it has become known with within the competition.
The club is always keen to encourage players to participate at the highest level that they can. To do this, the senior coaching staff is always looking at the junior teams to promote these players to the senior levels of football. The club looks to appoint quality coaches to assist all players in achieving their goals, with the philosophy that by encouraging players to reach their goals, the club will be stronger as a whole.
The senior group strives to project a professional attitude and outlook in all areas of their playing and representation of the Happy Valley Football Club. A dress code has been set for A and B Grade players and coaches, and these codes are enforced by the club, coaches, and playing group. The breaking of these codes results in penalties that are enforced by the playing group. All senior players are expected to act in a professional manner when representing the club, with this being both on and off the field. The senior players are also expected to attend social events during the year, and assist the club in a number of volunteer functions.
The club strives to win A Grade premierships by developing players to their full capacity, at both senior and junior levels. This striving process starts from the moment that a sub-junior player starts at Under 8’s, and goes right up to when he plays his 150th senior game, where they become a life member of the club. All throughout this process, he is a key part of the club, and in turn, we develop this winning culture without losing that sense of enjoyment that comes with sharing successes with his team mates. The senior players are encouraged to help in the development of young players.
The Happy Valley Football Club main focus is to develop this winning culture whilst enhancing the skills and abilities of all senior players for all on and off field activities.
